Once again Ricky Williams has quit smoking because he’s no longer in pain or under the stress of playing football. Ricky Williams isn’t planning on making another NFL comeback, but he wouldn’t fail a drug test anymore if he did.
The 1998 Heisman Trophy winner, who was fined and suspended multiple times during his career with the Miami Dolphins for testing positive for marijuana, has given up smoking because he’s not in pain or under the stress of playing football.
“When I go places, people offer me pot all the time,” Williams said told USA TODAY Sports. “And then I have to say, ‘Well, I’m sorry, I don’t do that anymore.’ And they look so disappointed.”
Williams last played in the NFL with the Baltimore Ravens in 2012. He is currently an assistant coach at Incarnate Word in San Antonio, and serves as an analyst for the Longhorn Network.
