I guess just being the daughter of the most famous couple in Hollywood won’t get you everything. In a recent interview, Mrs. West recalls a conversation she had with friends about what North’s first job will be when she grows up. And when her friends questioned her daughter having a job, Kim says, “of course. She will have to work for what she wants.”
In a new interview with the London Standard’s ES Magazine, the reality star reveals that she had to work and get a job in order to buy expensive clothes and shoes.
“I saved up for this Dolce & Gabbana dress I really wanted, or like in high school these Prada shoes that my parents wouldn’t buy me,” she told the magazine.
“I remember they were $400, and I had to save for the entire year to get them…We didn’t get anything [from our parents], we had to get a job if we wanted it. So I was working in a clothing store, and I would save and save.”
Kim insist that she wants her daughter to know the value of hard work. Just like she dif prior to becoming a mega-famous TV personality.
“I was saying that earlier to my friends, ‘I wonder what [North’s] first job is gonna be,'” she tells ES Magazine. “And they were like, ‘What? She’s gonna have a job?’ And I was like, ‘Are you kidding me? Of course she is.’ She will have to work for what she wants.”
So what does she foresee as North’s career path? “I don’t know,” the Dash mogul said. “She loves fashion. Maybe she’ll be a designer. Who knows? It’s too early to tell.”
The ES Magazine interview will be published in full on Thursday, Oct. 23.
