Steve Nash’s back problems are only getting worse and you know it’s bad when something as simple as this can keep him out…
via OC Register:
Steve Nash’s pursuit of a healthy final season suffered another blow Wednesday when the 40-year-old Lakers star aggravated his back while carrying luggage.
The injury will almost certainly keep Nash out of the lineup for Thursday’s preseason game in Anaheim against the Utah Jazz, and raises serious concern about his durability for a 19th NBA season.
Nash has sat out the past three days of practice. He started two of the Lakers’ three exhibition games, but in Sunday’s loss to Golden State asked out of the game after the first quarter.
Nash is determined to finish out the last season on his contract and was not shy in saying he wants all his money. He was trying to have a healthy final season after playing just 15 games last season but it’s just not going to happen and it’s time he accepts it. Nash has long been one of my favorite point guards in the game and it’s sad to see him go out like this, but it’s the nature of the game.
