University of Alabama tight end Kurt Freitag is in some trouble after a police search of his dorm room led to a seizure of 112 grams of marijuana and $4,661 in cash according to court records.
via AL.com:
According to a fruits of crime forfeiture complaint filed Monday, agents of the West Alabama Narcotics Task Force were tipped off by a confidential informant of a pending drug transaction involving the Crimson Tide’s sophomore tight end Kurt Freitag.
Agents monitoring Freitag saw the deal go down last Tuesday, according to the complaint, although his role in the transaction is not specified.
According to reports they read Freitag his Miranda rights and he granted them access to search his room. It’s unclear however if Freitag was arrested and charged with any crimes as it’s not reflected in the court records.
A spokeswoman for the University of Alabama gave the standard comment saying they would look into the incident but declined to comment any further.
