Just days before he was sent to prison on a 3-to-6 month bid, Meek Mill called out his MMG labelmate Wale for lack of support, and a brief but highly-publicized exchange ensued. Though the beef has reportedly been squashed for some time, it’s still definitely a topic of conversation, and Wale spoke about it while calling into the Russ Parr Morning Show recently to promote his forthcoming album, Album About Nothing.

When asked whether Rick Ross played a “significant role” in squashing the beef with Meek, Wale laughed and replied:
“Nah. He was high. Rozay was though. He gon’ come in that joint smelling like a tree trunk. But that’s how he is though. He was just like, ‘Man, what? We ain’t talking ‘bout this right now.’ The crazy thing about it, Meek ended up going to jail like two days later. So it’s like bad. You have an argument with somebody and then something bad happen and you like, ‘Damn.’ So it was bad for me in that regard.”
He added that he and Meek’s cousin Omelly actually collaborated following the incident on a track off Omelly’s new mixtape, Gunz & Butter.
“I actually did a song with his cousin, his best friend. That dropped. And I even poked fun at Meek and me arguing on the record. It’s all good. I think he come home in late September or late this month, so it’s all good.”
