James Franco decided to go for a new look at the 2014 Venice Film Festival on Friday when the actor came through sporting a complete baldie. But, it’s all about staying in character with James Franco, who also had a fake mustache and fake tattoo on the back of his freshly shaven head.
Franco is shooting some scenes for his upcoming movie “Zeroville,” where he plays a character that becomes “so enamored with movies that they become religion to him.” The revamp of the Steve Erickson’s novel follows the character Vikar [the one with the stars from “A Place in the Sun” inked on the back of his head] on a journey through 1970s and ’80s Hollywood.

Franco said he can have some fun now-a-days. “I think my endeavors used to be driven by more of a need to prove myself,” Franco told the AP. “But nowadays it’s not the same. I have enough work I’ve done that I’m proud of, and will always be proud of.”
