A man named José Zamora changed his name to Joe on his resume in order to get a job. Soon after he changed his name the offers started pouring in. Check out the video and read more on the story after the jump!
In the video José, 32, spoke about his struggle to find a job and impress his employers. José said, “I don’t think they would have hired me as a José — they don’t want a José — they want a Joe.” José changed his name so that employers would hire him.
The Mexican-American saw that he was being judged based on his resume and he thinks that changing his name and marketing himself has given him a new found confidence. He says, “I’m not scared anymore..going to a job interview four years ago was the most terrifying thing in my life.”
