The professional basketball career of Metta World Peace be over in the NBA, but he is still making money on the court outside of the U.S. He may have to change countries, but he has an offer to play from another very famous athlete. Manny Pacquiao who is in his first year of coaching the Kia Sorentos’s of the Philippine Basketball Association, wants the former Knick to be on his roster and he really wants to make it happen. He will have to snatch him away from his current team though. Hit the jump.

Local media this week quoted Pacquiao saying he intended to speak to the 34-year-old forward about joining the expansion team.
“He’s okay. He’s my friend,” The Philippine Star quoted Pacquiao as saying of World Peace, whom he first met in Los Angeles in 2009 ahead of his fight against Miguel Cotto.
“We need a good import,” he said. “If we get him that would be nice.”
World Peace, who changed his name from Ron Artest, is currently playing for the Sichuan Blue Whales in the Chinese Basketball Association.
It certainly would be an interesting combination on the court. Metta at this point could probably help Pac-man learn to coach seeing as he has no experience whatsoever.
