The audio was attained by authorities from a man, who wished to be unnamed, who was video chatting with a friend at the same time the gunfire went off.
The man said he happened to be recording the conversation when he heard the gun shots during his call. He lived nearby.
In the audio, one heres a first series of shots followed by a pause then another series of shots.
The man’s attorney, Lopa Blumenthal, told CNN’s Don Lemon,
“I was very concerned about that pause … because it’s not just the number of gunshots, it’s how they’re fired, and that has a huge relevance on how this case might finally end up.”
Another attorney, Chris Chestnut, was altered by the pause between the shots, saying,
“It’s the pause that gives most concern in a police shooting, especially with an unarmed victim, because at this point Mr. Brown is defenseless — he has no weapon,”
If the gunshots heard in the audio are actually from Brown’s death, the pause doesn’t fully indicate malicious intent.
