It’s a new beginning for the Los Angeles Clippers; the dark cloud that is Donald Sterling is gone and Steve Ballmer has come to brighten up the day.
The Los Angeles Clippers held a rally for fans Monday afternoon at Staples Center, one designed to say this is a new era and introduce new owner Steve Ballmer to the fan base.
Ballmer’s introduction music was Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” and that’s exactly what he did, screaming like he was trying to rally the troops.
A couple important things he mentioned that need to be reiterated:
- Once again he maintains that he will NOT move the Clippers to his hometown Seattle. “Seattle is a town that deserves an NBA team…but the L.A. in L.A. Clippers is not changing,” he said.
- He also will not change the name of the team
- He intends to hire basketball people and LET them do their jobs aka the opposite of Knicks owner James Dolan.
