The Cleveland Cavaliers are building quite a squad and they’re still not done yet. After LeBron James decided to return “home”, he’s brought a host of players with him. Mike Miller, James Jones and Shawn Marion all agreed to sign with the Cavs for less money and they’re on the verge of trading for star forward Kevin Love. There’s one more piece they want to complete the puzzle, Ray Allen.
Ray Allen is still deciding on whether to return or to retire. There were a couple reports that Allen decided to continue playing but his representation refuted those reports. In a recent interview, Allen also seemed content with retiring but the Cavaliers like their chances of snagging him.
The Cavs are also optimistic about their chances of signing free agent guard Ray Allen prior to the start of training camp, a source said.
How much the Cavs will be able to offer him could cause a problem as well. If Allen does decide to return, we’ll have to see if the lure of playing with LeBron will be enough for him like the other players.
