The film, ‘The Purge: Anarchy’ is a movie about a 12-hour crime spree that is held each year to get rid of the nations crime. The “Louisville Purge” that was scheduled for Friday turned out to be a hoax. A teenager thought it would be funny to say that Kentucky authorities would allow crime for one night only. The Purge would start at 8 p.m. on Friday until 6:30 a.m. Saturday.
Phil Russell, a police spokesman, stated “We’re going to take any threat that we receive seriously, particularly one that encourages and incites violence against our community,” The teenager has apologized for his prank and said, “I didn’t think it would really get that serious..It was wrong for me to do that.”
