Though former owner Donald Sterling tried his best to fight the sale, former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer is now the new owner of the Los Angeles Clippers.
The NBA announced the sale to Ballmer has officially been completed. Ballmer and Shelly Sterling came to an agreement that he would purchase the team for a record breaking $2 billion.
Though Ballmer’s roots are in Seattle, he has maintained that he will not move the team from LA noting that Los Angeles is where the team would be more profitable. It’ll be interesting to see if he ever changes his mind, especially since the city has been clamoring for a franchise ever since the Sonics relocated to Oklahoma City.
