The King is home. LeBron James decided to take his talents back to the Cleveland Cavaliers and as the entire city of Akron welcomed him home, he declared that he would never leave again.
Over 30,000 fans gathered in the University of Akron stadium in a massive welcome back rally for James.
From the general manager of the Cavaliers, the mayor of Akron, the coach of his high school basketball team and the president of the University of Akron all spoke at the welcoming ceremony and Skylar Gray played her hit “Coming Home” just before James entered the stadium.
Following the rally James answered questions at the press conference and while he didn’t make a “not 2, not 3, not 4..” declaration he did make one assurance, “I’m not going anywhere ever again.” He acknowledged that his two-year contract with an opt-out after next year was purely money motivated, noting that he’s a “business man” and “knows what’s going on in the league”, alluding to the new TV contracts that will raise the cap.
