WXIA Atlanta reports that, “the CDC is alerting health departments and hospitals across the country to be hyper-vigilant watching for potential exposure to Ebola in any person who has traveled from Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Nigeria in the past 21 days.”

Any hospitals that have suspected patients of the Ebola virus are to send the blood test to the local health department and then to the CDC.

“Tom Skinner, a CDC spokesperson, said blood samples are packaged according to biomedical standards and shipped by traditional carriers, like UPS and FedEx,” 11 Alive reports.

Luckily for the two patients suspected of the Ebola virus in Columbus, Ohio, and in Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, the test results came back negative.
