Officer Daniel Pantaleo, responsible for killing Eric Garner on tape, is reportedly distraught over his actions according to Police union President Pat Lynch. In addition to this news, Garner’s mother has even spoken out about Pantaleo. This comes hours after the arrest of the man that filmed the killing. More after the jump.

“I had the opportunity to speak with [police officer Pantaleo], he’s distraught over it,” said Lynch. But there’s another side to this story — Garner’s Mother, Gwen Carr.

She went on to question Pantaleo’s sincerity saying, “He didn’t listen to my son when he told him he couldn’t breathe. My son said it 11 times. So how could he be truly apologetic?”

Defending Pantaleo, Lynch stated that “things like this happen, unfortunately. And that doesn’t mean to lessen it – it means it’s the reality. In communities, we have to deal with the reality of the job we have to do.”
