Detailing how they first met Snoop Dogg in the first place, Prodigy remembered crossing paths on the way to meet Alchemist in Manhattan.

“Actually man I had bumped into Snoop in Manhattan on his way to Alchemist’s crib and we didn’t know we was gonna meet that day. That was my first time ever meetin’ him. We in the elevator together, I didn’t even know they was gonna have a career, you know what I mean. So I’m kickin’ it with him and Tray Deee from Tha Eastsidaz and we just got cool right then and there. They was like ‘Yo it’s all love, we love Mobb Deep’ and that was the times where I’m like ‘We love y’all too, we love the music y’all make’…This is like, maybe, ’98, ’99 or something like that, you know what I mean.”

Vaguely addressing their back-and-forth, Prodigy added that the beef was some “Hip Hop stuff.”

“It was just, you know, some…Hip Hop stuff. You know how we do it in Hip Hop, everybody battles and crews battle with each other and beefin’ each other sometimes. But Snoop is the homie man. We love Snoop and what he brought to the game, man. We fans of Snoop, you know what I mean, from day one. Even through all of that, we was still fans of Snoop at that time. So, you know, this is all love man, you know what I mean, Hip Hop, word.”

During the interview, Havoc explained how the pair’s “Get Down” collaboration with Snoop took form.

“You know Snoop is versatile,” he said. “Snoop could rhyme on the illest commercial joint to the grimiest hood track. So when I sent [“Get Down”] to him, the feedback that I got from him was like ‘What you want me to do nephew?’ ‘Do you.’ And he just did him.”
