The Minnesota Timberwolves have long been holding out hope that they can somehow convince disgruntled star Kevin Love to stay but they’ve finally realized that it won’t happen. They’re moving along with the expected trade and now we have a date.
The Timberwolves say now that they expect to trade disgruntled all-star Kevin Love and that a deal is expected Aug. 23 or Aug. 24.
“I’m saying it’s most likely because Kevin has made it pretty clear that that’s what he wants to do,” Wolves owner Glen Taylor told the Pioneer Press.
There were recent reports that the Cleveland Cavaliers are the only team the Timberwolves are speaking with and this new trade date further proves that a trade between the two is likely. The Cavaliers signed Wiggins and have to wait 30 days before they can trade him; August 23rd is that date.
There’s still a couple questions that need to be asked, such as; will a third team be involved as expected? And will the Timberwovles try to include Kevin Martin and J.J. Barea?
We’ll have to wait and see.
