The Green Bay Packers locked up one of their key offensive players by coming to an agreement with wide receiver Jordy Nelson.
According to NFL reporter Ian Rapoport:
The Packers and Nelson agreed to a four-year extension worth $39 million with $14.2 million guaranteed. Nelson averages $9.76 million on his new deal, which is a large upgrade. He also gets an $11.5 million signing bonus.
In the seasons since signing his extension in 2011, Nelson has averaged 1,107 receiving yards and 10 TDs. In 2013, Nelson recorded a career-high 1,314 yards, despite not having Aaron Rodgers for almost half the season. His contract extension is well deserved.
