Tearjerker of the Day: Zumyah Thrope, 11-years-old was involved in a car accident – due to a drunk driver – that killed her mother, an unborn sibling, two of her younger sisters and left her with severe brain injuries. The two survivors in the incident – Zumyah & another sister – were in critical condition to the point where doctors were not sure that Zumyah would survive her coma status. The stars were aligned in a different way.
Nurses said to have played Bruno Mars every night for the young lady while she was in a coma. Zumyah heard every word. When she woke up from the coma and learned to walk and talk all over again, the first words to escape her mouth were, “just the way you are” from the popular Bruno Mars track.
Bruno got wind of the miracle child and while doing a show in Ohio, he reached out to the survivor. Zumyah got a chance to sit and talk to Bruno and he also invited her to the concert where he sang those beautiful words, “girl you’re amazing, just the way you are.” TEAR!
