News dropped today that Disney star, Zendaya, had dropped the role of Aaliyah for Lifetime’s upcoming Biopic. At first the actress made no comment but on the BET red carpet today she opened up to Karrueche Tran about why she had to turn the role down. Find out what she had to say after the jump!
Dressed in a very Aaliyah inspired looking outfit, 17 year old Zendaya told Karrueche why she felt she had to drop the role in Lifetime’s Aaliyah film. She explained that the movie wasn’t up to the standards she would want for one of her biggest idols. According to the young actress, for the tribute movie to be properly made it would have to be “120%” which the TV biopic apparently is not.
Well, looks like Zendaya is agreeing with Aaliyah’s family. The late singer deserves much more than a Lifetime TV movie in her honor.
