Finally! Good news out of Ohio. After a man attempted to break into a home occupied by a double amputee and his wife, things didn’t get too out of hand — considering. 34-year-old Roy Davis was sitting in his wheelchair on his porch when his wife, Kenisha Marbury, heard what she thought to be raccoon or squirrel in the house. When she went to investigate the strange sounds, she noticed 49-year-old Joseph Copeland going through their things after sneaking in an unlocked window. More info after the jump!
Via NY Daily News:
Police believe Joseph Copeland, 49, sneaked into the house through an unlocked window. He told investigators that drug dealers had told him there was cash in the house, and he didn’t expect anyone to be home when he came in to clean out the Stolz Road home.
“I grabbed him around the waist and said, ‘You’re not going anywhere’ and started screaming,” she told the local news station. “I started yelling, ‘Roy, Roy, there’s somebody in our house!’”
Davis then wheeled himself into the house, used a glass liquor bottle to smash Copeland in the head, and then sat on him until the police arrived. When police arrived, both were sent to the local hospital for minor injuries. There, officials revealed that Copeland may suffer from mental health issues.
When asked what’s next, Davis responded with, “I want to protect my own family. I don’t care if (the landlord installs the system) or not, this is my family, and I want my family to be protected, so I’m going to do it for myself.”
