Earlier this month we reported on a crazy prison escape where 3 Canadian men hopped on a helicopter and fled to their freedom. Now, just about two weeks later the the men have been captured. Find out how they got caught after the jump!
A heavily armed SWAT team stormed into an upscale Montreal condominium early this morning and captured Yves Denis, Denis Lefebvre and Serge Pomerleau. The three escapees were found in a luxurious 10th floor condo with a beautiful view of the city. Looks like life on the run was going them good. Well, until they were caught.
Police busted in their door at around 1:30 am, Quebec provincial police said. By midday Sunday police left the scene carrying out several containers and bags. Police Sgt. Audrey-Anne Bilodeau said investigators gathered evidence from the condo that would be used in court.
The three men are due in court in Quebec City on Monday to face new charges but police did not explain exactly what those accusations would be. Prior to the escape, the three men were being detained on murder and gangsterism charges.
