The film “Selma” produced by Oprah Winfrey will document the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr and the 1965 voting rights movement.

“The film, which stars Oprah Winfrey as lauded civil rights activist Annie Lee Cooper Cooper, is centered on King’s historic campaign towards the Voting Rights Act of 1965. British actor David Oyelowo will play King and the film is currently shooting in Altanta as well as Montgomery and Selma, Alabama.
The film will see a limited release this Christmas and then a full nationwide release on January 9th, 2015.”
