This is really such a horrible shame. Just after reports surfaced yesterday of one teen drowning to his death in the Bronx River this week, another Bronx teen was found dead along with two others who were left injured after a shooting at a house party early Sunday. The three teenagers were shot around 1 am at a home located in the 47th Precinct in the Wakefield neighborhood. The deceased, identified by the police as Keshon Porterfield, was shot in the torso and was pronounced dead at the Montefiore Medical Center.
A 17 year girl was shot in the foot and another 17 year old boy was shot in the leg. The young girl was taken to Jacobi Medical Center and is currently in stable condition. The boy was brought to Montefiore and was also listed in stable condition.
According to police, “a person of interest” was taken into custody at the site of the shooting but no charges were filed as of Sunday morning.
This shooting is just one of nine killings that has taken place within the 47th Precinct this year alone.
