Sum 41 singer Deryck Whibley took on Avril Lavigne’s last name in their 2006 marriage, becoming Deryck Lavigne Whibley, and 3 years after their divorce…he’s finally dropped the ‘Lavigne.’ Took him long enough, huh?

It seemed as if he wasn’t going to bother changing it for a while, but he eventually filed the motion to change it shortly after his ex married Nickelback frontman, Chad Kroger. Deryck also has a new fiancée himself, who I’m sure was also a major factor in the decision.
