As 100 attendees surrounded the Fifth Quarter Sports Bar And Pizzeria in East Peoria, for their 15th High School year reunion, tragedy struck as witnesses saw a distressed Lance Griffel, kill his ex wife Lori Moore.
Attendees were left ins hock after experiencing the murder of one of their own classmates, by the hands of her ex husband. An East Peoria, Illinois, undercover FBI agent on site, responded to the shots immediately, shooting and killing Lance Griffel after he murdered his wife.
East Peoria Police Chief Ganschow praised the officer’s bravery:
It’s very difficult to say. You can play the ‘what if’ game over and over again, but I think it’s pretty clear in his case the presence of this officer and his ability to take very quick and very decisive action prevented a further tragedy.
