Is it logical for a team to trade a young star who just won rookie of the year? The answer is typically NO, but that is exactly what the Philadelphia 76ers are considering. Not too mention the 76ers have been known to make a bad decision or two in their time so I wouldn’t put it past them. Philly has the third pick in next months NBA draft and are strongly considering taking guard, Dante Exum from Australia. Exum has NBA scouts drooling, even though most fans here do not know who he is.

The 76ers reportedly believe that Michael Carter-Williams and Exum could play together, but they also have bounced around the idea of trading Carter-Williams if they draft Exum.
Chad Ford of ESPN reported the following:
“The Philadelphia 76ers are Exum fans as well, and if Wiggins is off the board, Exum will be in the mix. They think Exum and Carter-Williams could play together in the backcourt, although it would not be a very good shooting tandem. I think the more obvious fit comes if they trade Carter-Williams, an idea I’m told they have bounced around.”
I think Philly would be silly to do it, even though they would probably get a few quality players in return.
But they have a young core in Carter-Williams, Nerlens Noel and could potentially draft Jabari Parker, Andrew Wiggins or Joel Embiid at the third spot in the draft as well. They do not need another young guard with Williams.
