A Quinnipiac University dropout attempted to hide it from her parents that she wouldn’t be walking at graduation on Sunday (May 18th) by calling in fake bomb threats in order to get the entire ceremony cancelled. Talk about going all out. Maybe just saying you were sick would’ve done the trick? Or being honest works too.

According to police, 22 year old Danielle Shea of Quincy, Massachusetts, phoned into Quinnipiac’s public safety department twice Sunday evening claiming that there were “several bombs on campus” just because she was afraid that her mother, who had been sending her thousands of dollars in money that was intended for tuition costs, would find out she had dropped out of the university. In the first call Shea told public safety that there was a bomb in the library, which was followed by a second call about 20 minutres later where Shea said, “You haven’t cleared out graduation. That’s not a good idea.”

With two calls made the University proceeded to move the ceremony indoors to the TD Bank Sports Center where Shea would arrested. So, how did she get caught? Police tracked down the ex-Quinnipiac student’s phone number to find her at the graduation in a cap and gown she purchased herself just for the occasion.

Shea appeared before a judge yesterday (May 19th) in Meriden Superior Court where she was charged with first degree threatening and falsely reporting an accident. The dropout who cried hidden explosives is currently being held on $10,000 bond. Ironically enough, according to her Facebook page, she was a criminal justice and psychology major. Guess we can see why that didn’t work out too well for her.
