After losing out on Steve Kerr to the Golden State Warriors, the Knicks are somewhat in a daze and not sure where to look as far as their next head coach. Numerous names have been thrown around since last week but the franchise has no interest in talking with anyone until they speak with someone very specific first. Hit the jump to see who.

New York Knicks president Phil Jackson continues to send out signals that he’s in no rush to hire a coach until he can seriously discuss the position with Oklahoma City’s Derek Fisher, according to sources close to the process.
Fisher however is actually on a good team that is still playing this late in the season, something the Knicks haven’t known about in years. OKC coach Scott Brooks actually thinks Fisher might consider playing one more season.
During the last round of the playoffs, Fisher said, “I would tell people to allow me to finish my career as a player before they give me another job after that. It’s humbling, just to think about people thinking of me in that manner, especially while I’m still playing. [But] I promise you this is the last thing on my mind at this point. I really haven’t thought about it that much. Hopefully there’s a lot of basketball left to be played this season for sure. Once that’s done we’ll go from there.”
Fisher would be another former disciple of Jackson and someone knowledgeable of the triangle offense from his days with Jackson and the Lakers. But he again would be a coach with no prior experience, which depending who you ask could be good or bad in the New York market.
At this point coaching names have been thrown around left and right but it appears everything is on hold until Jackson can have a serious talk with Fisher whenever the Thunder’s season ends.
