The high school in Maryland organized the private graduation ceremony for senior Megan. The school allowed the ceremony so her mother could see her graduate. Megan’s family was afraid that her mother would pass away before seeing her graduate on June 10th so they quickly arranged the graduation.

Megan graduated by her mother Darlene’s side, who is 47. Three and a half years ago, Darlene was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. Megan says, “I was happy my mom got to see, but at the same time it was hard.” Megan’s father stated that Darlene’s health began to quickly deteriorate so they had to act fast. Principal Vickie Plitt, whose mother is battling cancer as well says, “I know how proud her mom is of her and we really wanted to give her family a special time…and to really honor Megan, because as much as she’s had going on, she’s pushed through and is going to graduate high school.”
Such a touching story!
