It seems athletes from older generations struggle to give credit to the guys doing it today. It is hard to blame them, they are looked at as icons, living legends etc, but in most cases the athletes of this generation are better, definitely more athletic and playing against harder competition. So it was no surprise when Sugar Ray Leonard took a small jab (pun intended) at Floyd Mayweather last night after seeing him fight Marcos Maidana Saturday night. In Leonard’s defense when the person behind the camera asked him about beating Floyd he tried to brush it off before shaking his head yes. What was he supposed to say? One Mayweather he did beat was Floyd’s father, Floyd Mayweather Sr back in 1978. Hit the jump.
