So unbelievable it must be true. Director Richard Linklater – Dazed & Confused, School of Rock, and Bernie (based on a true story) has taken in convicted killer Bernie Tiede – yes, whom the movie character is based on.
In 1996, Tiede was convicted of shooting to death wealthy Texas widow, Marjorie Nugent. As of Tuesday, the killer is a free man – kinda. He was released on a $10,000 bond under some conditions. Those conditions being released to Linklater and live in his garage apartment. Tsk Tsk! Hit the jump for more.
