Jhene Aiko performed at William Paterson University for the college’s second annual Spring Jam Saturday night in Paterson, New Jersey, and brought out a special guest to surprise the students.
My alma mater! I don’t know how I didn’t know about this, and I’m completely jealous I wasn’t there, but as a proud alumni, it’s still exciting to know that Jhene Aiko performed at my University for Willy P’s Spring Jam.
The buzz started when she Instagramed a picture from the Rec Center of a rainbow casting over the University’s parking lot Saturday evening.
The picture set off a fire storm of hashtags, causing the University to become be trending on Twitter with her performance.
The singer performed songs off her EP Sail Out, and even brought out rapper Big Sean to surprise the audience with their song, Beware.
After the performance, Jhene posted a photo of her and Big Sean thanking him for coming through with the caption, “thank you for being such a great person @bigsean ! love you always . perfect surprise for William Patterson Univ .”
She also poked some fun at herself posing in front of some lockers saying, “so ….. i have this one reccurring dream where I’m in middle school again and I can’t remember my locker combination and everyone is laughing at me.”
Hot 97’s own DJ Camilo also graced the stage to DJ the event.
