Triana Lavey is very obsessed with social media. She even used Photoshop to fix her photos before she spent $15,000 on surgery to change her chin and nose. She also received fat grafting and Botox injections. She spoke to ABC’s “Nightline” show and said, “Social media has really changed so much about how we look at ourselves and judge ourselves”.
She says how she was dissatisfied about how she looked because of the photos she took online. “Ten years ago, I don’t think I even noticed that I had a weak chin..I now have the face that I always thought that I had. I look like myself, but Photoshopped…your selfie is your headshot, so you can reinvent yourself every day with simply your iPhone. It’s a legitimate form of promoting yourself,” she said. A survey on Media Bistro says that there are more than a million selfies taken everyday and 40% admit to altering the selfies to look better.
