Chakaya Brittney Folborg, 24, is sentenced to life in prison after she admitted that she used a steak knife to stab and kill her sister in the shower. Read more on the tragic story after the jump!
Chakaya Brittney Folborg pleaded guilty in court to murdering her sister Kourtney Chanel Dyches in their home. Assistant district attorney, Sherwin Figueroa said, “It was straight up jealousy.” Figueroa said Folborg was adopted as an infant from a lady with a crack problem. Dyches was popular with a lot of friends and Folborg said she felt like a failure.
The sisters had a lot of tension between one another because they lived in a small house. The mother and their 12-year-old sister were on the other side of the bathroom trying to stop Folborg from killing her. Figueroa stated, “This victim was a vibrant young lady with the rest of her life ahead of her. The defendant, without any provocation, took a knife from the kitchen some two hours before the killing and waited until the victim was in the shower before viciously stabbing her at least six times.” Folborg will be eligible for parole after serving 30 years.
