Last night, Nicki Minaj stunned in Alexander McQueen on the red carpet at the L.A. premiere of her big-screen acting debut, ‘The Other Woman.’ In the film, which hits theaters on April 25th, Nicki stars alongside Cameron Diaz (as her assistant, Lydia,) along with Leslie Mann and Kate Upton.
As of late, Nicki has been rocking a very natural look, a vast difference from the wigs and crazy costumes that mainstream America got to know her with. Her latest musical releases (like “Chi-Raq” and “Lookin A$$ N*gga“) have also been toned down, swapping the accents and crazy voices for a more gritty flow – reminiscent of the sound the Queens raptress exhibited on her debut mixtape, Playtime Is Over. In a new sit-down with MTV about ‘The Other Woman,’ Nick reveals that this isn’t by accident!
“I went so far to the other side that there’s only one place to go from there,” Nicki said of the switch from crazy outfits to a more natural look. “You can either continue doing costumes or you can just say, ‘Hey guess what? This will shock them even more. Doing nothing will shock them even more.’” And as far as her sound, we can expect NOT to hear any “Super Bass” type records on The Pink Print. (Though I actually loved “Super Bass,” I loved Playtime Is Over Nicki a lot more, so I can not WAIT for this album! Y’all know I stan for this girl!) Get the full scoop below!
