I guess Mike Williams was unaware that he was on his way out of Tampa Bay after dropping nearly $1 million on a house.

Mike Williams put down nearly $1 million dollars in cash to buy a house in the Tampa area two weeks ago, so it’s safe to say his trade from the Buccaneers on Friday came as something of a surprise.

The Tampa Bay Bucs traded wide receiver Mike Williams to the Buffalo Bills and apparently he didn’t know the deal was about to go down because he paid $995,000 cash for the house he had been renting in Avila, a town in Tampa, Florida.

What might have also come as a surprise to Williams is that he will be reuniting with coach Doug Marrone who was the coach during his turbulent collegiate career at Syracuse where he left the team after reportedly facing a second team suspension for misconduct.

Well it looks like the two are ready to move on.

“We feel Mike is a player who has the ability to help our team improve,” Marrone said Friday in a statement released by the team. “With regard to our time at Syracuse, I feel that is in the past for both of us. Today, Mike has an opportunity to get a fresh start to his career here in his hometown and regain his form as a productive player in the National Football League.”
