There was a moment of reconciliation about 90 minutes before Friday night’s Spurs-Kings game. Standing behind the press table at midcourt, Spurs broadcaster Sean Elliott was surprised to see Kings star DeMarcus Cousins walking toward him, hand extended to offer an apology to Elliott.

Cousins was suspended for two games last season for angrily confronting Elliott after a game at Sleep Train Arena on Nov. 9, 2012. Outraged when informed after the game about derogatory comments Elliott had made about him during the game’s telecast, Cousins came out of the locker room and confronted the former Spurs star, who tried to walk away, only to have Cousins follow him.

The NBA investigated the incident, and Cousins was suspended for two games, a decision that cost him slightly more than $77,000. “I was surprised to see him come over to me,” Elliott said. “DeMarcus seemed very sincere, and I really appreciated it.”
