The New York Jets made it official yesterday by releasing quarterback Mark Sanchez and signing quarterback Michael Vick. The Jets still have a need in the wide receiver department and Philadelphia Eagles WR DeSean Jackson is currently in limbo with his team so it would make sense for him to reunite with his QB Vick. It’s definitely a move the fans would welcome and so would Vick.

“[I]f there’s an opportunity to get DeSean, I’m pretty sure the New York Jets fans would be in favor of that,” Vick said. “But who knows, it takes a lot to make a trade happen [with] all of the intricacies of a contract. It’s not for us as players to decide. But hopefully everything will work out for DeSean. If he ends up in New York, we’ll be happy, just as happy as he will be. But who knows, you can’t say.”
It’s pretty clear the Eagles are willing to trade Jackson and numerous sources around the player have indicated that he won’t return but that doesn’t mean the Jets will be able to scoop him up. It would be in their best interest however so I think they should move on it asap and according to Sports Illustrated they have inquired. The only issue is they’d be paying Eric Decker $10 million and Jackson $10.5 million this year. It would be a great wide receiver core to add their QB upgrade after having issues in both positions last year, it’s just a matter of if it’s worth it to them.
