It’s called March Madness for a reason and this year’s shining star so far is the Dayton Flyers. After defeating No. 6 seed The Ohio State, they went on to beat the No. 3 seed Syracuse Orange 55-53.
A missed three-pointer from Tyler Ennis sealed the win for the Flyers and ended Syracuse’s tourney run. Syracuse by the way was 0/10 from the three-point line including Ennis’ late heave.
The Dayton win makes it the first time they’re heading to the Sweet Sixteen since 1984 and the Syracuse loss makes Jim Boeheim the first coach in NCAA Tournament history with six losses to double digit seeds per ESPN Stats Info.
Dayton will go on to play the winner of the Stanford vs. Kansas game which will take place on Sunday at 12:15 p.m.
