Ice Cube and Kevin Hart’s comedic tale of two cops, has far exceeded the expectations of success that Cube expected! Although it wasn’t expected, Cube is gladly taking in the mass accomplishment and has revealed that a sequel may be on the way!
Cube stated in his latest interview, that he is planning on taking the Ride Along film world wide after its huge fame, and is also in the works for the sequel:
“When the studio saw the preview numbers [for Ride Along], they were excited, so we are in good shape,” Cube says of the sequel. “It was something we weren’t expecting, but we have a script and we might be ready to shoot in June or July. The film has also done well in Egypt and Lebanon. Hopefully we’ll go to other territories, like hitting Australia with it.”
Ice Cube also spoke about other topics in the interview such as the Macklemore’s Grammy win over Kendrick Lamar, to which he said was “typical”:
“It’s typical,” Ice Cube says in an interview with the Associated Press as published by Billboard. “It’s the Grammys. What do you expect? But for them to pass up true skills for what could be fly-by-night success…I don’t want to dis anybody, but seriously.”
