Gross! Sarah Hyland, 23, who plays Haley Dunphy on ABC’s hit show “Modern Family,” was attending an event in Australia where she was nice enough to take a picture with a fan and got groped.
Hyland and her “Modern Family” castmates were hosting an event Thursday night at Qantas Airlines at Sebel Pier One in Sydney, where the actress stopped to take a picture with a male fan. The man got too touchy and allegedly touched her breast.
According to E! Online, Hyland pushed the man away and yelled “Don’t touch me there!” After her security team intervened on her behalf, Hyland left the event.
She was clearly very upset and tweeted to fans, “Sorry to all the fans outside the #quantas event that I didn’t get to say hi to but I had to leave due to an inappropriate touch by a fan.”
The website reports that police confirmed that a 29-year-old man connected to the incident had been arrested.
A spokesperson for the police department told E! Online “it is alleged that the man indecently assaulted the 23-year-old woman at about 7:50 p.m.”
Hyland’s boyfriend, Matt Prokop, tweeted his outrage about the ordeal saying, “To the a–hole who assaulted Sarah tonight I hope to God you don’t see next week. All Sarah wanted to do tonight was say hit to the girls who were waiting outside one douche can ruin it for everyone. Goodnight.”
Whoa!
The cast is in Australia for the next two weeks to film a special vacation episode scheduled to air later this season.
