We haven’t seen Andre Miller in a Denver Nuggets uniform since he was banished from the team after his public confrontation with coach Brian Shaw on Dec. 30. There now are conflicting reports about whether the two sides might put their differences aside and move forward with Miller on the court as a Nugget.
It appears the team is open to the idea of having Miller return.
“Facing a difficult trade market and a glaring hole at the point guard position, Nuggets officials worked out the banished Andre Miller this week and are considering bringing him back, league sources told CBSSports.com,” wrote Ken Berger.
Despite the Nuggets’ wishes, it appears that Miller as no intention of rejoining the team.
“The vibe is delusional,” a source told Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports. “It’s a burned bridge. No reconciliation. He’s waiting by the door with his bag already packed. The relationship is irreparable. Under no circumstances does he want to come back to Denver.
“Andre hasn’t spoken about the situation. He’s being quiet out of goodwill.”
It’s possible that Miller’s camp is taking a hard stance now in an attempt to turn up the heat on the Nuggets to trade him before Thursday’s deadline. If that’s the case, it’s also possible that he could cool off and reconsider coming back to the Nugs if he isn’t traded. In the meantime, it appears there is no common ground between Miller and the Nugs.
