Nasir Jones sat down with Rolling Stone to discuss his upcoming album, “Illmatic’s” anniversary, and his upcoming drama series, “Street Dreams.”the rapper’s upcoming autobiographical drama series on Xbox, is set to be a genuine portrayal of his life.
This year marks Illmatic’s 20th anniversary, an album which aged gracefully two decades after it was released, and is in the discussion for greatest hip hop album of all time. Here’s an excerpts from the interview.
On The 20th anniversary of Illmatic
“It’s like I gave myself a fortieth birthday present 20 years ago. It gives me a reference piece to look at myself and for me to analyze my life and what I’ve come from, my accomplishments, my dreams.”

The QB rapper felt Xbox was the ‘perfect partner’ for this type of content, especially with Million of active Xbox live accounts out there, and Xbox Music growing larger every month. I am ver enthusiastic about this release and to see how it turns out.
