Over the weekend, the right-hander chartered a plane from Japan to make sure he arrived to this week’s events in style (and in time).
Tanaka didn’t charter any ol’ plane though. He dropped $195,000 (!) for a private flight on one of Japan Airline’s Boeing 787 Dreamliners, according to Bruce Golding of the New York Post. 787s usually seat around 300 people, so Tanaka surely brought a larger party with him, right? Wrong. It was Tanaka, his wife, his wife’s poodle, and three other people. That’s it. Nearly 40 grand per person.
