Tha Carter V is coming, just wait on it! Lil Wayne has teased the fifth installment of his popular Carter album series for a while now, often dubbing it as his retirement album. He also has said that before C5’s release, he’d be putting out another project with Birdman (the follow up to 2006’s Like Father, Like Son), as well as a another group release (the follow up to 2010’s We Are Young Money.) As previously announced, the Young Mula gang will be dropping their sophomore compilation in March, with the lead single being the recently-released, “We Alright.”
“I’m working on that Carter 5,” Wayne raps on the track. “I got this b*tch in fifth gear!” Then taking to Twitter yesterday, Drizzy confirmed the project is underway, with a tweet that simply read, “Carter V.” Hopefully this means he’s on it as well! I do know that Wayne is currently in L.A., and Drizzy is as well, so this could definitely mean studio time together! However, the bigger issue here – could he really be retiring? The game needs you, Tunechi!
