The Indiana Pacers have the best record in the league and Paul George ranks second in Eastern Conference voting so he’s practically a shoe-in to make the All-Star roster.  George’s celebrity has grown so much the league has asked him to participate in the dunk contest, three-point shootout and skills challenge.

It’s obvious George won’t do all three but he said he would consider competing in an event.  But now it looks like he’s going to skip all of them except the main game.

After throwing down this crazy 360 windmill dunk last night, George said he’s declined the invitation to appear in the dunk contest.

George also holds a little resentment after his last stint in the dunk contest.  After returning from the 2012 All-Star weekend, George told The Indianapolis Star: “(Not to) take nothing away from the dunk contest, (but) it was a joke. I guess whoever had the biggest celebrity involved in their dunk was going to be the winner. I guess I should have tried to reach out to some people.”

George also noted the need for rest and trying to limit his schedule as much as possible which means passing up the other contests.

“I don’t want to add to it by doing extra stuff,” George said, responding to a comment that rest rarely happens during hectic All-Star weekends.
