Reports surfaced today that former NFL star Darren Sharper was arrested on suspicions of rape. Sharper is currently free on $200,000 bail and is facing allegations on two incidents of alleged sexual assault, one that occurred in October 2013 and one in January 2014. Of course his employer has taken swift action.
Since retiring from the NFL, Sharper became an analyst on the NFL Network. It’s innocent until proven guilty in this country but NFL Network of course wants to distance themselves from the allegations.
“Darren has been suspended without pay until further notice, effective immediately,” NFL Network said in a statement issued to ProFootballTalk. “Regarding the charges, as a matter of policy, we don’t comment on pending legal action.”
