The school is completely unfit for the 234 students in attendance. The facility is a mess, the library is a junk room and the nurses office is not equipped with a sink or even a cot! Because there is “no space” for a kindergarten class in the building, the children sit in a dilapidated trailer on the school premises. The principal, Marcella Sills, rarely shows up for work and if she does, is never on time. 5 months into the new school year, teachers have not received new curriculum or books for their students. P.S. 106 was given $2.9 million to serve the low income neighborhood, receiving extra federal funds because it is a Title 1 school.
